Structure

The Australian Paediatric Society is a Special Society of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians representing rural child health.

The APS membership comprises Australian regional paediatricians and many suburban general paediatricians with similar advocacy, professional development, peer support and workforce needs.

APS is strongly aligned with consumers and the rights of the child and advocatesstrongly against inequity of service delivery to children and the injustice of maldistribution of resources.

The APS has representation on many RACP committees, including Policy and Advocacy Committee and represents rural Australia in many partnerships with other Australian peak bodies such as ASCIA (National Allergy Strategy) and the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes. The APS is a long-standing member of the National Rural Health Alliance representing rural child health.

The APS is an incorporated entity that is serviced by a committee of management, elected at Annual Meetings of members.
